What data supports the world and first-level maps?
World countries and global first-level divisions are derived from Natural Earth 1:10m cultural vectors. Natural Earth states that its vector and raster map data are in the public domain. EasyMap simplifies, partitions, checks, and enriches names for browser delivery.
What data supports detailed China maps?
The detailed China source is derived from reviewed standard administrative-boundary material carrying review number GS(2024)0650, as displayed in the map interface. The ten-dash-line layer is controlled separately and shown where the product rules require it.
Users preparing a public map should also consult the current official Standard Map Service and applicable map-review requirements.
What processing does EasyMap apply?
Source files are converted offline into compact GeoJSON, partitioned by source or parent area, and validated before release. Names and searchable aliases are normalized across supported languages. Geometry, representative points, parent codes, and relation aggregates are checked so the browser does not need to parse SHP files.
Are boundaries and names legally authoritative?
No general-purpose small-scale dataset is suitable for every legal or operational purpose. Boundaries, subdivisions, names, and political representations can change or differ by source and jurisdiction. EasyMap is intended for statistical visualization, not legal boundary determination, navigation, land ownership, or surveying.
How should a map-data problem be reported?
Use the map-data category in the support form. Include the map source, country or administrative area, visible name, expected result, and a reliable official reference. Do not send confidential datasets merely to report a boundary or label issue.
